Recent experiments Ive been doing with various types of glass in a microwave. i'm imagining a regular microwave but i'm probably wrong, even still, sounds like there could be some interesting color/light coming from waves on the glass that could be filmed.
it seems as though ball lighting from the research i just did, not much, hasn't been documented very well. also bordering on the "i saw an alien" phenomenon which leads me to think that in creating the pieces you might be able to create the documentation that describes the mystery of it.
also i must mention fulgurite came to mind as i started looking at your description.
